Key Responsibilities

- Responsible for creating & managing media relationships including 24/7 press office access. Researching and responding to media queries
- Writing and issuing press releases, briefings & statements and preparing messages document for press, radio and on-line content
- Facilitate media interviews with national and local media outlets and provide media training as required
- Working with all parts of the company to develop and implement agreed plans to support business strategy
- Manage numerous communication projects across all communications platforms - print, broadcast and digital
- Developing and executing strategic PR campaigns
- Keeping up to date with all issues and opportunities that impact the company
- Working with the business in delivering communication responses to crisis events
- Providing media advice to colleagues and stakeholders
- Responsible for monitoring media coverage across all platforms, analysing and reporting

Experience and Qualifications

- Third level qualification in PR or Communications or equivalent, including courses in creative writing, copy editing, news writing, digital & social media, and marketing
- Minimum seven years of experience in a communications/public relations role
- Media Competence in all aspects of print, broadcast, online, and social media
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, good editorial skills, and the ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent organizational skills, a self-starter with the ability to work under pressure and to short deadlines
- Digital Proficiency - Good working knowledge of digital and social media, IT, and all applications relating to communications. Proficient with social media channels (Flickr, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
- Strong Technical Skills and capability with Sitefinity CMS, basic CSS, HTML, and Google Analytics
- Experience working in a similar fast paced communications role within the energy sector and experience of dealing with crisis communications situations
- Full Clean Driving License

Location

ESB Head Office, Lower Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 2 and in line with our Smarter Working principles and flexible working.

The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least one anchor day per week.
