As a Software Engineer at Synchronoss, you will be a key contributor in a cross-functional agile team delivering mission critical software used by millions of users every day.
The Platform Core Development team delivers the software stack which underpins Personal Cloud, our white-label cloud content solution, used for backup, sync and sharing of content by millions of mobile operator subscribers. This team designs and develops the network components of the platform, which we have scaled to manage many petabytes of user content worldwide, handle billions of API calls and hundreds of terabytes of content uploads daily.
We have many interesting software problems to solve, and we’re looking for Software Engineers who are looking for a challenge and want to change gear from Big up to Very Big
Responsibilities Hands-on role covering all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including design, documentation, coding, testing and support.
Collaborate within a scrum team, including daily standups, team refinements, bi-weekly planning and quarterly PI planning.
Maintain existing product components while adding new features as required.
Maintain a high focus on code security standards.
Innovate and drive to improve both components and processes on the team.
Qualifications 2-5 years of experience in Java development (Java 8+; functional Java a plus).
Enterprise Java: Spring/Spring Boot and/or JEE; related tech such as JDBC, JPA/Hibernate, Dependency Injection, etc.
Tooling: Gradle and/or Maven, IntelliJ and/or Eclipse, Git, Bamboo and/or Jenkins, etc.
Java application testing and profiling tools: JUnit, Cucumber, JMeter, etc.
RDBMS development experience (MySQL or Postgres).
REST API definition, implementation and management.
Deploying and troubleshooting applications on Linux and in the cloud.
Good communication skills including written, speaking, listening, negotiation and presenting.
Deploy software on the cloud and problem-solving abilities as issues arise.
Delivered and maintained mission-critical software in production that is scalable, performant, highly available, secure and maintainable.
Contribute to automated unit and integration tests/frameworks and improve build pipelines.
Keeps things simple and avoids over-engineering.
Continually improves the performance and productivity of a team.
Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Nice to have Messaging: JMS, RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.
Data analytics: Hive, Hadoop, etc.
