Product Lead, Retail Technology (EPOS & Strategic Projects)
Role Overview
As the Product Lead for Retail Technology, you will be the champion for our core Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) product and the key driver for its wider ecosystem and strategic retail technology projects. You will lead the prioritisation, definition and design with a broad group of stakeholders and deliver maximum business value from a portfolio of initiatives that relate, directly or indirectly, to the EPOS platform and the Retail Technology Strategy.

This role requires a unique blend of strategic Product Leadership to define the what and why, and exceptional Project Management acumen to ensure successful, on-time delivery of cross-functional initiatives. You must be adept at managing a high volume of concurrent interdependent workstreams.

Core Responsibilities
A. Product, Strategy & User Advocacy

Live Product Management: Join a high-performing team and third-party vendor responsible for the rollout and evolution of a live, operational ePOS product . You will guide the end-to-end product lifecycle for the core EPOS platform, driving continuous improvement, strategic evolution, and sustainable growth.

Business Requirements Leadership: Lead the business engagement for all in-scope retail technology projects —whether directly EPOS-related or strategic satellite systems—to define and secure high-quality, valued requirements.

Innovation & Vision: Actively identify opportunities for innovation within the Core ePOS space to deliver competitive advantage and continuously improve the user experience.

Voice of the User: Be fiercely passionate about the end-user experience driving all decisions with user feedback. Actively solicit feedback from Users and from the Field Teams to inform product decisions that maximise operational efficiency.

B. Vendor Management & Project Delivery

Vendor Product Alignment: Works in close partnership with vendor product managers and internal development teams to align priorities and outcomes and ensure delivery is focused on desired business outcomes and user value.

Multi-Track Management: Expertly manage concurrent, interdependent projects (the 'spinning plates'), ensuring internal and external resources are aligned, prioritisation decisions are transparent, and delivery timelines are met across all workstreams.

Value-Driven Backlog: Own the prioritisation, refinement, and transparent maintenance of the Product Backlog, ensuring all items are aligned to maximize business value and deliver incremental progress.

Technical Health: Partner with internal and external development teams to manage the balance between new features and user requirements prioritised , ensuring the long-term sustainability and reliability of the Core ePOS.

Release Governance: Act as the final business sign-off gatekeeper for all releases and co-ordinate with Field Manager and team for field-readiness.

Product Quality : Define the quality strategy for the Core EPOS, including championing and driving the implementation of an automated testing framework .

C. Reporting, Data & Communication

Customer Engagement: Organise and lead a User Group and represent the product at Company Events , demonstrating features and building customer confidence.

Data Visualization (Power BI): Utilize tools like Power BI to create and maintain self-service reports and dashboards that visualize retail technology initiatives impact, product health, track feature usage, and monitor store rollout progress for the Field Team.

Internal Champion: Be a passionate advocate and champion for the ePOS product, communicating its status, vision, and value to internal business stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience

Proven experience as a Product Lead in a complex retail or equivalent B2C technology environment.

Exceptional Delivery Leadership & Project Acumen: Proven history of successfully owning the delivery of complex, cross-functional technology projects, including expert management of schedules, dependencies, risks, and resource alignment.

Deep understanding of the retail environment, including in-store operations and the importance of an integrated technology ecosystem (EPOS and its satellite systems).

Exceptional ability to manage conflicting priorities and multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Expertise in Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps for backlog and project management.

Outstanding communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

A decisive, data-driven mindset with the ability to make tough trade-off decisions to maintain delivery momentum and maximise value. Experience creating and maintaining Power BI reports to communicate performance and status to non-technical users.
