Are you a skilled and compassionate small animal veterinary surgeon seeking a rewarding role in a well-established, supportive practice? At The Well Pet Hospital in Sligo, you’ll become an integral part of a dynamic, collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional care in a modern, purpose-built environment. This permanent, part-time position offers flexible working hours, a structured rota with shared weekend and on-call duties, and the perfect balance between clinical variety and personal life.

Role Overview

Permanent, part-time position (approx. 20 hours/week) - 2 flexible days per week, with no fixed days

Shift hours range from 7:30am (earliest start) to 6:30pm (latest finish)

On-call responsibility: one night per week, plus one in five weekends (Saturday & Sunday)

Competitive salary up to €60,000 FTE, depending on experience

About Our Team
At The Well Pet Hospital, you’ll work alongside a strong, experienced team of 5 veterinary surgeons, 5 veterinary nurses, and 3 support staff. Our supportive and inclusive culture fosters collaboration and ongoing professional development. Our clinicians include specialists with certifications in dermatology and western herbal medicine, contributing to a diverse and expert skill set within the team.

What We’re Looking For

VCI registered Veterinary Surgeon

Proficiency in small animal consultations and surgery

Competence in managing sole charge and out-of-hours emergencies

An interest in dentistry is highly advantageous

This position is best suited to experienced clinicians; it is not appropriate for new graduates or those needing extensive supervision.
