Red D are recruiting a General Manager for one of Galway Citys most iconic and vibrant bars. This landmark venue is known for its lively atmosphere, award-winning food, live music, extensive drinks selection and genuine Irish hospitality. About the Role As General Manager, youll lead all aspects of a busy bar, restaurant and entertainment operation. This is a hands-on leadership role that calls for strong operational management, financial control and a visible, people-focused presence on the floor. Youll oversee a large, experienced team, ensuring high standards, smooth service and an atmosphere that keeps locals and visitors coming back. Key Responsibilities Manage all day-to-day operations across bar, restaurant and events Lead, motivate and support a large, multi-departmental team Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting and cost control Maintain exceptional service standards and operational efficiency Ensure full compliance with licensing, health and safety, and food hygiene regulations Handle customer feedback and resolve issues promptly and professionally Collaborate with marketing on promotions, events and seasonal campaigns Drive training, team development and performance culture The Ideal Candidate Minimum 4 years senior management experience in a high-volume bar, venue or gastropub Proven ability to lead and motivate large teams Strong understanding of both bar and food operations Excellent financial management and commercial awareness Calm, organised and confident in a fast-paced environment Passionate about hospitality, music and creating memorable experiences Whats on Offer Excellent salary (€60,000€70,000 DOE) Staff discounts and meals on duty Training and career development opportunities A lively, team-oriented work culture in the heart of Galway City We can only consider candidates with full, unrestricted permission to live and work in the EU.
