NRG Health & Fitness, Irelands leading health and fitness provider for over 20 years, is seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager to lead the team at NRG Knocknacarra, Galway. As General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day operations of the club. You will ensure a safe, efficient, and customer-focused environment while driving performance across membership, fitness services, and team development. Key Responsibilities: This is a Senior Management position within a busy leisure centre The ideal candidate must have previous management experience in the areas of leisure, hospitality or retail Take full ownership of the daily operations of NRG Knocknacarra Must be sales orientated, and target driven Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies, cleanliness, and hygiene standards Provide strong leadership and be a role model for professionalism and exceptional customer service Effectively handle member and guest enquiries, feedback, and complaints Manage club inventory, ordering, and budget control Be knowledgeable and experienced in pool plant Oversee cash handling and PCI compliance Set and deliver on sales and membership growth targets Collaborate with company directors on marketing strategies Foster a culture of teamwork, communication, and shared accountability Recruit, train, and manage staff schedules and performance in line with business needs Deliver a selection of fitness classes and maintain a visible presence on the gym floor Oversee specialist operational areas including Health & Safety, Audit Readiness, Maintenance, Administration, and Training Possess the drive and initiative to identify and solve problems and enhance operations Ideal Candidate Profile: Proven general management or senior leadership experience in a fitness or leisure environment Proficient in Microsoft Office and leisure CRM/membership platforms (e.g. Gym Sales, Perfect Gym) Strong leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills Benefits: Competitive salary (OTE & DOE) Gym membership On-site gym and parking Bike to Work scheme Company events Opportunity to lead and grow with a respected fitness brand To Apply: Apply today with your CV and cover letter and join the NRG team proudly shaping Irelands fitness community for over two decades.
