Job Title: Senior Occupational Therapist - Adult Intellectual Disability Service Location: Westmeath/ Longford, Ireland Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week Salary: €40 - €45 per hour (€72,800 - €81,900 per annum) About the Role We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Occupational Therapist to join a Adult Intellectual Disability Service in Westmeath/Longford. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team supporting adults with intellectual disabilities to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a genuine commitment to client-centred care. Experience in seating and specialist equipment assessments is highly advantageous. Key Responsibilities As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will: Assess and develop individualised treatment plans to support adults with intellectual disabilities in achieving their optimal level of independence and participation in daily activities. Provide specialist advice and interventions in areas such as self-care, functional skills, and sensory processing. Conduct seating and postural management assessments and make recommendations for specialised equipment and adaptations. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, providing leadership, guidance, and support to colleagues and junior staff. Contribute to service development, including audits, quality improvement initiatives, and the implementation of evidence-based practices. Requirements Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience, with at least 1 year at senior level (or equivalent) Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities is essential Strong skills in seating and equipment prescription highly desirable Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills Benefits Competitive hourly rate (€40 - €45) Supportive team environment Opportunities for professional development and training Flexible working arrangements Benefits: Holiday Pay
