Applications are invited for the following position within the Rotunda Hospital Ref No: 2025/10 Research Assistant Part Time Specified Purpose Contract We are currently looking to hire a Research Assistant to join our team here in the Rotunda Hospital.The Research Assistant will work part-time on a study which aims to inform the use of trauma-informed care in Maternity settings. Specifically, the candidate will join a team that is currently conducting a scoping review of current trauma-informed care efforts. This is an early-career post offering the right candidate an opportunity to learn about the field of trauma-informed care and contribute to an analysis and synthesis of current literature. Applications are encouraged who come from a broad range of related backgrounds and interests (e.g., psychology, public health, social work, gender studies). We may create a panel of future candidates from this competition. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: The post-holder will assist the Principal Investigator and other members of the research team in the literature review process. The post-holders responsibilities will include: 1.Screening titles, abstracts, and full-texts of articles for inclusion or exclusion in review. 2.Assisting in a gray literature search and screening. 3.Extraction of relevant article information. 4.Analysis of article data. 5.Provide administrative support where needed. 6.Prepare for and attend project meetings. 7.Preparing articles, abstracts or posters as required 8.Perform any additional duties as required by the Principal Investigator. Other duties appropriate to the post as assigned from time to time. Knowledge & Experience (Essential & Desirable) Essential ?Understanding of the scoping review process. ?Knowledge of trauma-informed care practice and/or research. ?Experience of carrying out administration and/or research within agreed timelines, meeting project milestones and producing results to a high standard. Desirable ?Previous experience using Covidence. ?Experience of research methods and literature reviews. ?Demonstrable research interests within the project remit. Skills & Competencies ?Extensive I.T. skills: Displays evidence of a high level of competency in Microsoft Office, in particular Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and in qualitative analysis packages such as NVIVO. Experience in use of web technology (e.g. webinars, Zoom conferencing and podcasts). ?Team worker: Ability to work effectively as part of a team tolerant, cordial, and willing to help others, shares work and information; establish rapport with others. ?Organisational Ability: Excellent organisational and task management skills together with the ability to work on several tasks simultaneously. Can prioritize tasks and meet deadlines; be capable of working on own initiative, with minimal supervision, and work under time constraints; be enthusiastic, flexible, and willing to work outside normal office hours when required; ability to develop creative solutions to multifaceted problems. ?Conscientious: Have a pro-active approach to work, anticipating and resolving problems in advance; and able to pay attention to detail - from anticipating and addressing issues to understanding requests and delivering quality work with minimal errors. ?Flexibility: can operate flexibly within a busy project office environment and can shift focus when required.
