About the Role and the Team

This role will be part of the management team and supports them to drive the store’s performance especially relating to Shrinkage. The role also reports into the Asset Protection Manager. Furthermore, the role represents the Disney brand and ensures that Guests have magnificent experiences throughout the Store in a safe and secure environment. Their standards are consistently high, and they set the example for the delivery of outstanding Asset Protection standards. They mentor and are a role model for Cast Members in relation to Asset Protection and work with the rest of the management team to create an energetic work environment, to direct the company’s initiatives and to achieve its goals

What You Will Do

1. Supervise entry/exit points, patrol the store, monitor ‘Hot Spot’ areas with a history of theft, acting as a deterrent, whilst alert to any threat to Guests, Cast Members, or the store.
2. Ensure radios, CCTV, and EAS equipment are used appropriately, with daily checks actioned to ensure good working order.
3. Conduct searches of bags, pockets, and lockers in a professional manner with employees’ knowledge to meet The Disney Store SOP.
4. Record and sign off all staff and visitor searches by all parties.
5. Identify any issues ensuring a safe working environment to prevent injury to self, colleagues, and Guests throughout all areas.
6. Supervise Fire exits and corridors to ensure these are always kept clear.
7. Initiate evacuation and power loss procedures; complete and document regular tests with the store manager.
8. Attend court on behalf of the company as required.

Results

1. Achieve shrinkage financial aims, as agreed, through appropriate actions, controls, and use of Guest service behaviors.
2. Reduce cash variances and mitigate the opportunity for fraud or theft.
3. Monitor weekly store shrinkage performance and inventory adjustments (MOS) to highlight areas of loss and propose remedial action. Complete cycle counts accurately and maintain inventory integrity as directed by the Inventory Management team.
4. Communicate effectively and professionally with both Police.

Support

1. Complete visitors book and ensure badges are worn by all visitors; supervise the issuing of locker keys and access fobs.
2. Liaise with Store Manager in the investigation of identified cash variances and ensure all MOS adjustments are appropriately investigated.
3. Assist in ensuring that delivery/collection manifests are checked and in order.
4. Assist Store Manager with induction training of all new employees in all areas relevant to Loss Prevention.
5. Deliver targeted training and mentor sessions with employees to raise awareness and solve the root causes of shrinkage within the store.
6. Deliver awareness of “Hot Spots” for theft training and supervise any changes to the layout that may affect these.

Contribution

1. Call police in line with The Disney Store SOP procedures or as advised by Loss Prevention Representative/Store Manager.
2. Record accurate and legible reports on the intranet Loss Prevention Field Report function.
3. Complete police witness statements and internal company documents ensuring they are accurate, legible, and filed appropriately. Ensure relevant in-store filing systems are clear and accessible.
4. Lead by example in relation to grooming guidelines.
5. Review Loss Prevention SOPs and make recommendations for improvements.

Required Qualifications & Skills

1. Loss prevention/security experience within a retail environment.
2. Experience of training personnel in security and Asset Protection processes.
3. Detailed understanding of security procedures, regulations, and practices.
4. Understanding of basic Health and Safety practices and procedures.
