Operations Manager

About the Role: We’re searching for a dynamic and results-driven Operations Manager to oversee and optimize all aspects of plant operations. In this critical role, you'll champion safety, drive performance, and ensure top-tier quality, all while leading cross-functional teams to success.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity where you'll manage Safety, Production, Warehousing, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Materials Management, and Supply Chain. If you're passionate about continuous improvement and operational excellence, this is the perfect role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

- Foster a culture of safety by leading regular safety walks, meetings, and initiatives to drive continuous improvements.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation while building a workplace that supports business goals and customer commitments.
- Develop and empower teams with effective performance management, training, and growth opportunities.
- Oversee end-to-end quality control and assurance processes to uphold high manufacturing and food safety standards.
- Lead the HACCP team and ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including GMP, allergen control, and traceability protocols.
- Proactively manage quality performance through robust reporting systems, investigating non-conformances, and implementing corrective actions.
- Drive readiness for internal and external audits, ensuring all quality systems (HACCP, VACCP, TACCP) are maintained to the highest standards.
- Take ownership of plant operations, ensuring production efficiency, cost control, and adherence to business objectives.
- Lead the manufacturing team, maintaining close involvement in day-to-day activities while driving strategic initiatives.
- Manage production schedules, equipment performance, and resource allocation to achieve maximum efficiency.
- Develop and implement systems for continuous improvement in productivity, capacity utilization, and cost management.
- Oversee demand planning, material procurement, and inventory control to ensure consistent customer service levels.
- Manage warehousing and logistics operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of raw materials and finished goods.
- Collaborate with 3PL partners to optimize distribution and reduce stock obsolescence risks.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

- Health & Safety: Ensure continuous improvement in safety metrics, including accident frequency rates (AFR), adherence to 7S principles, and positive outcomes in internal and external audits.
- Product Safety & Quality: Maintain the highest standards of safety and quality by achieving excellent audit and laboratory results while minimizing customer complaints.
- Customer Service: Meet or exceed customer expectations by achieving production plan targets, maintaining NPD schedules, and delivering high service levels.
- Cost Management: Optimize performance by improving yield, managing labor and conversion costs, controlling direct and indirect plant expenses, and aligning stock levels and capital expenditure with budgets and targets.
- People & Culture: Develop a thriving workplace through comprehensive training plans, reduced staff turnover, low absenteeism, adherence to HR policies, and fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
- Operational Efficiency: Enhance production metrics such as rework reduction, right-first-time rates, uptime, capacity utilization, and minimizing stock write-offs.
- Profitability: Drive profit improvement projects (PIPs) to meet or exceed financial targets and budgetary goals.
