Purchasing Manager
Are you an experienced procurement professional looking to step into a leadership role within a fast-paced engineering a environment? This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a purchasing function that is central to ensuring production success.
We are seeking a Purchasing Manager with strong commercial experience to manage and develop our purchasing function. You will be responsible for sourcing, supplier management, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials and components critical to production.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and placing purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in pricing and lead times.
- Overseeing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintaining and optimising ERP/MRP systems to support production demands.
- Forecasting material requirements and ensuring suppliers meet delivery schedules.
- Producing procurement reports (daily/weekly/monthly) for management.
- Leading and mentoring the purchasing team to achieve business targets.
About You
- 5+ years' experience in procurement within an engineering, manufacturing
- A track record in direct procurement of raw materials, components, and supplies.
- Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and reporting abilities.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
- Team leadership experience is an advantage.
