Overview AREA LEADER (Social Care Manager 2/CNM2) – Includes Person in Charge Responsibility. Offaly/Tipperary Region Residential Services. Permanent Full Time. This is a frontline leadership role designed to support the Area Director in driving delivery and continuous improvement of quality services in line with the Organisation’s Vision, Mission and Values. The role offers opportunities to broaden experience by taking in Day Services, Respite and Pre-Schools.
Responsibilities Support the Area Director in driving the delivery and continuous improvement of quality services in line with the Organisation’s Vision, Mission and Values.
Provide leadership to Residential Leaders with Person in Charge experience to broaden their scope to Day Services, Respite and Pre-Schools.
Lead teams to deliver high quality services to residents and ensure balanced workloads for frontline governance structures.
Promote active citizenship for individuals in the local community and support community integration.
Model and mentor staff, provide supervision, mentorship, and motivational leadership across teams.
Ensure compliance with HIQA standards, statutory requirements, and safeguarding practices; contribute to inspections as appropriate.
Qualifications / Skills Ability to effectively communicate with individuals, their families, other professionals, and key people in the individuals’ lives.
Robust knowledge and understanding of HIQA standards and statutory requirements; experience as a Person In Charge or supporting a PIC.
IT skills including day-to-day email, Word, Excel.
Strong leadership and decision-making skills; ability to provide mentorship and support to team members.
Excellent knowledge of Assisted Decision Making and Advocacy; knowledge of New Directions Interim Standards, HIQA Regulation Standards, Safeguarding, and Protection of Vulnerable Adults.
Experience / Requirements At least four years of managerial experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism and individuals with a range of support needs, including behaviours of concern.
Experience as a Person in Charge and in HIQA inspections.
Experience of supporting community integration and leading person-centered planning, risk assessment and care planning.
Experience in leadership, mentoring, supervision of staff.
Willingness to travel between locations and participate in the on-call roster.
This position is remunerated appropriate to qualification.
