Join us as a RAN Performance & Capacity Manager The RAN Performance & Capacity Manager will be a key member of the RAN leadership team and will be responsible for the integrity and quality of the Three Ireland Radio Access Network. The objective of the RAN Performance & Capacity Manager is to protect customer experience on the network and to ensure that robust processes are in place to monitor, analyse and optimise voice and data services. The RAN Performance & Capacity Manager will be a recognised technical expert, with considerable experience in the mobile industry. The role is a hands-on technical role requiring a through understanding of RAN performance, capacity and load management, optimisation methodologies and data analytics. The RAN Performance & Capacity Manager will require leadership capability to manage, mentor and develop a team of dedicated technical subject matter experts. The role requires outstanding technical aptitude, customer focus and a mindset of ownership and accountability. The RAN Performance & Capacity Manager will closely with teams across the wider technology group to ensure class leading levels of performance are delivered to Three Ireland customers. What else it involves: Working as part of the RAN Management Team to shape and lead the development of a best in class Radio Access Network Manage, lead, and develop a team of RAN subject matter experts in the areas of RAN Performance, Capacity and Optimisation Ownership of all RAN KPI reporting processes, KPI management, and delivery of clear performance reporting through a range of channels and reporting systems Management of all daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly KPI analysis, from daily Top N / worst offending cell analysis to broader long-term network trending Development and management of an online performance management framework to provide clear reporting on network traffic, load, integrity, and mobility at multiple levels of granularity Lead investigations into degraded KPIs and develop action plans to address issues encountered on the network Ownership of all drive test data collection & analysis campaigns Management of all network benchmarking projects with a focus on ensuring Three Ireland achieve and maintain higher levels of performance over competitors in the market Lead the movement towards use of Self Optimising Networks and manage the implementation of SON policies on the network, including use of AI / ML models and correlation of network data with customer insights, including crowd sourced data. Deliver a structured methodology for regional & local optimisation projects through a blend of parameter optimisation and physical site optimisation Management of capacity and congestion at all levels of radio access network Identification of sites requiring upgrades based on customer impact and business impact metrics such as user congestion hours, AMPU & Churn per site Work closely with RAN Equipment & Software Suppliers to ensure best practices and latest capabilities are implemented on network Maintain a thorough understanding of industry trends and the evolution of network architecture as defined by 3GPP The Skills we are looking for: Outstanding technical ability and extensive experience in RAN engineering, performance, capacity & optimisation across GSM, UMTS, LTE and 5G NR networks Strong people management skills, ability to mentor and develop team members and the drive to set high standards and to develop a culture of achievement and high performance Outstanding relationship management skills with an ability and willingness to work with, lead and influence people at all levels across the organisation Excellent communication skills, confident and assured in communicating network plans and strategy at functional and management level Solution orientated approach - focused on solutions and not on problems Strong operational awareness and understanding of the impact of network change on the customer base Adaptability and flexibility - effective in dealing with changing technology priorities and targets Highly analytical - excellent problem-solving capabilities Energetic, enthusiastic and the ability to motivate and engage team members Effective in working with different corporate cultures and can modify approach and style to obtain cooperation and commitment and resolve potential conflict Experience in managing multiple technology vendors Strong commercial acumen and ability to negotiate with suppliers Strong understanding of Enterprise Agile ways of working The Individual Takes personal accountability & is willing to go the extra mile to achieve high quality outcomes. Organised and process orientated Ability to mentor and lead Highly analytical with good problem-solving skills Energetic and motivated.
