A day in the life of a Technical Consultant at CBTax:
As a Technical Consultant at CBTax you'll engage in technical discussions with clients. This will be a central part of your role. You will identify qualifying R&D projects by thoroughly understanding their innovations and assessing their eligibility for R&D tax relief.
Your ability to translate complex technical conversations into clear, concise documentation will be crucial as you prepare technical assessments in line with HMRC R&D tax relief guidelines. Interacting with clients' technical and financial staff will help you develop a comprehensive understanding of the claim benefit value, making sure that all documentation is accurate and compelling.
You will manage client information via our CRM system, keeping records up-to-date and well-organized. Supporting R&D tax relief claims during HMRC enquiries will be another key responsibility, ensuring clients feel well-prepared and supported throughout the process. Your day will also involve preparing claim reports and documentation for client review and approval.
To be considered for the role:
We're ideally looking for someone with a degree or post-graduate qualification in Science, Engineering, or a related field, with circa of 2 years' experience working in the Engineering or Industrial sectors.
A desire to learn about preparing and submitting R&D tax relief claims is essential. You must have exceptional skills in translating technical discussions into concise and compelling written documents, alongside strong numerical abilities and attention to detail.
Prior experience with R&D Tax Credit and an understanding of the tax claim process is preferred but not mandatory.
