Onsite Location(s):

Galway, G, IE

Additional Locations: Ireland-Clonmel; Ireland-Cork

Our Mission:

At Boston Scientific, we are dedicated to transforming lives through innovative medical solutions that improve the health of patients around the world.

We work collaboratively to solve healthcare’s toughest problems by developing solutions that matter most to those suffering from debilitating and life-threatening conditions and to the healthcare professionals who provide their care.

We are seeking a Source-to-Pay & Interplant Product Owner on a permanent basis to join us on our mission.

About the role:

Boston Scientific is seeking an experienced Source-to-Pay & Interplant Product Owner to drive strategic elements of the Magellan Program, our global ERP transformation.

Magellan is a global business transformation program focused on migrating our ERP system from ECC to S4 HANA. The program aims to simplify, standardize, and modernize core business processes, enabling Boston Scientific to better leverage data and position the company for sustainable, profitable growth. Reporting to the Associate Director of the Magellan Advance Team, the Source-to-Pay & Interplant Product Owner will serve as the primary point of contact between the Magellan Program and Source-to-Pay & Interplant business stakeholders. The initial focus will be on the next phase of deployments, including the US Commercial Divisions, Distribution Centers, and manufacturing sites in Penang and Galway, along with other critical global functions.

In this role, you will represent the global Magellan program strategy and implementation roadmap, driving planning, communication, coordination, and execution efforts. Key responsibilities include partnering with the business to support early engagement activities such as process mapping, risk assessments, process optimization, data cleansing, and application remediation. Additionally, you will lead efforts in scoping and global template alignment, assessing fit/gap requirements, and justifying necessary customizations, all within a structured governance and change management framework.

This is a hybrid opportunity requiring three days on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

- Gain a thorough understanding of the Magellan Program and its impact on all workstreams, including Source-to-Pay, Plan-to-Make, Customer-to-Cash, and Warehouse-to-Deliver, as well as the Quality, Finance, Change Management, and Master Data areas.
- Understand the appropriate capabilities within these workstreams.
- Map stakeholders, establish networks, and mobilize engagement by setting expectations, creating a sense of purpose, and defining a shared vision at all levels.
- Work with business leaders to establish and evolve the SME/Superuser model for early mobilization, ensuring key global SMEs and process owners are engaged in deep dive or design workshops to make critical decisions and ensure proper regional and site representation.
- Drive site assessments, deep dives, and design workshops during the mobilization phase.
- Develop ways of working and track key performance metrics to measure the success of the Advance Phase of the Magellan Program across deployments.
- Continuously assess effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
- Drive responsibility, accountability, and ownership of actionable items, managing risks, solving problems, and facilitating prompt decision-making or escalations as needed.
- Drive all project management disciplines, including defining scopes, charters, roadmaps, and work plans.
- Work with the business to identify “big rock” items and critical decision points.
- Plan and execute early business mobilization activities such as data cleansing, application remediation, process mapping, and process standardization.
- Educate business teams on the existing global template.
- Act as a change leader, simplifying language and storytelling with a focus on change management.
- Communicate priorities, monitor progress, and escalate unresolved issues when necessary.
- Collaborate with the BCP team to proactively mitigate risks.
- Oversee functional elements of Capital Equipment and work with E2E Capital Equipment teams as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain the Global Template Library, including process maps, key design decisions, and demos for standard functionality.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in business, IT, engineering, science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience, including at least 3 years of project or program management in the medical device field or a similarly regulated industry.
- Proven track record of managing global programs or leading key functions related to the Magellan transformation, such as Purchasing, Sourcing, Receiving, and Interplant processes.
- Previous leadership experience managing large-scale change programs or working within complex, matrixed organizational structures.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and the broader application ecosystem, with a strong understanding of key business processes.
- Ability to shape, communicate, and implement the vision and strategy of the Magellan Program, while engaging teams in the process.
- Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate across global teams.
- High degree of integrity, professionalism, and credibility, with a demonstrated ability to build trust.
- Demonstrated adaptability and comfort with change in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to manage risks, solve problems, and drive execution with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to travel extensively, including to locations within the US, Ireland, APAC, and other regions as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Advanced degree in business, IT, engineering, or a related field.
- Technical program management experience.
- Experience with Agile or Scaled Agile methodology, design thinking, or lean processes.
- Proven ability to create an inclusive, energetic, and high-performing work environment by empowering others and recognizing achievements.
