QC Micro Analyst

PepsiCo is on the lookout for a QC Micro Analyst to join our team in Cork.

Role Summary:

This role is based in our concentrate plant in Little Island and is a critical component of our manufacturing network. The successful candidate for this role will be responsible for the micro testing of water, incoming bulk raw materials, and finished products in compliance with product specifications for both concentrate sites in Cork. You will also be required to perform some micro-related tasks in our Food Flavours site, which is based nearby to our Little Island concentrate site. You will work alongside our engineering team, who will require micro support on new projects. All activities are conducted in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practice and safety requirements while ensuring a positive team environment and a focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

- Ensure the accurate and timely analysis and disposition of raw materials and manufactured products in accordance with PepsiCo standards and procedures.
- Adhere to and maintain ISO 17025 lab standard.
- Become familiar with the material/product portfolio.
- Register QC samples in the laboratory management systems accurately.
- Meticulous attention to sample data entry and preparation.
- Prepare all production, delivery, and issue samples in a timely manner.
- Ensure timely and effective issue resolution and communication.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment as required.
- Maintain all relevant records and samples in an organized system for quick and effective access to information with a particular focus on traceability.
- Adhere to safe lab practices and GLP.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

- A degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Microbiology role.

- Demonstrate an understanding of business fundamentals and synergies of cost/quality/service to maximize impact on work effort.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to positively influence others and lead teams.
- Good troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage a varied workload.
- Ability to work on own initiative, self-motivated.
