The Buyer will be responsible for planning, developing, and sourcing commercial trend-driven ranges to achieve the sales and profitability budget targets of the department. The role requires a focus on ensuring that key performance indicators (KPIs) are met. Client Details They are a dynamic and innovative company in the beauty industry, dedicated to delivering exceptional products and experiences to our customers Description Collaborate with the Head of Buying and Head of Finance to build the financial budget and range plan for each season. Deliver a commercially viable and balanced product range at competitive prices, ensuring the appropriate quantity for customer and online sales, including exclusive online product ranges where applicable. Analyze all aspects of sales performance, both online and in-store, in conjunction with the sales team. Manage supplier relationships effectively, evaluating performance based on product quality, innovation, reliability, sustainability, and competitiveness. Review the existing supply base and coordinate new factories to ensure they meet quality and innovation standards, adding value to the current supply chain. Work with the Design Team and suppliers to translate beauty trends into commercial consumer products that align with brand attributes and aspirations. Collaborate with the Graphic Designer on all design briefs related to formulation, componentry, and packaging. Liaise with the Marketing Team to organize product samples and required information for campaigns and launches in a timely manner. Evaluate and benchmark competition to identify strengths, weaknesses, merchandising methods, and opportunities, developing action plans to maintain a competitive edge. Regularly monitor competitor pricing, product launches, and market movements. Partner with the Head of Buying to agree and present sales budgets, stock intake, and sales monitoring by customer and online, reviewing open-to-buy (OTB) budgets and forecasted performance to react appropriately. Implement and maintain quality standards by ensuring all packaging and formulas comply with relevant market regulations. Ensure adherence to all safety standards. Identify key beauty trends for press and media coverage, ensuring adequate quantities are available to support customer and online demand. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Buying, Design, Sales, Marketing, and Finance, to achieve shared objectives. Coach and develop team members through on-the-job training and mentoring. Profile Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Initiative and problem-solving skills. Creative flair and strong attention to detail. Critical thinking and negotiation abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Commercial aptitude and business acumen. Stock management experience is ideal. Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
