Technical Manager Food

Our client, based in Co Meath, requires a Technical Manager for their progressive food production company. You will be reporting to the GM and have a team of 5. Are you passionate about food safety and quality? Do you have a strong background in food science and thrive in a leadership role? The Role As the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Food Safety and Quality Management System is fully implemented and maintained across the site. You will act as the primary technical contact, liaising with key stakeholders and driving continuous improvement to meet legislative, customer, and certification requirements. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary Technical contact for the site. Collaborate with the Site Production Manager to ensure the effective implementation of the Food Safety and Quality Management System. Work directly with production supervisors/managers to prepare management reports and conduct trend analyses. Ensure compliance with DAFM, BRC, MPQAS, and Customer Requirements. Review and update Food Safety and Quality Management Systems to align with legislative and customer standards. Stay informed about food legislation and emerging food safety risks. Communicate technical information effectively to diverse audiences. Drive innovation by developing new technical approaches or technologies. Manage certification and customer audits, ensuring timely completion of corrective actions. Handle customer complaints, conduct root-cause investigations, and implement corrective actions. Promote continuous improvement through Food Safety and Quality Objectives. Foster a strong Food Safety Culture across the site. Mentor and develop talent within the technical team. Work closely with the HR Manager on HR/IR issues. Key Requirements 3-5 years quality/technical management experience in the food industry. A qualification in Food Science, preferably a degree, or equivalent experience. Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP and Good Manufacturing Procedures. Demonstrated expertise in food safety and quality.
