Operations Manager Food Production About the Company We are currently looking to recruit an Operations Manager for a production facility, based Meath. This Irish company create and manufacture food products and are seeing a major increase in the demand over the last 18 months. About the Position The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the overall operations function of this production facility including production, process, maintenance, health & safety, quality, continuous improvement and environmental related issues. The operations manager will also be responsible for managing production targets and the delivery of these targets through production planning. You will have responsibility for manufacturing and process improvement. You will work closely with supply chain specialist to ensure that demand planning, materials planning and supply planning are in line. You will oversee the logistics aspect of the business to make sure that finished product is transported in a timely fashion. Experience/Requirements Within this role you will be involved in Daily running of the plant and maintaining a high standard across the operation. Reporting to the MD you will be responsible for all aspects of the plant. Production Planning and goal setting across teams. Working with section leads on Lean initiatives to create a continuous improvement culture across the plant. Manage KPIs ensure production and manufacturing is operating to the best it can. Interact with the warehouse managers to ensure stock levels are sufficient. Manage teams across the plant in a positive, motivated manner and ensure employees are sufficiently challenged in the roles. Identify cost saving and energy efficiencies across the plant With the Health & Safety Manager you will manage this operation with safety are at the forefront Act as a key driver for change management. Work with the head of operations to identify and implement change to improve productivity. Manage projects related to plant lay out, capital equipment and major maintenance programs, process improvement Operate to reliability engineering process and procedures Resource planning in relation to raw materials Manage the logistics and supply chain functions For this role you are required to have; Experience working in food manufacturing is essential A min or 7 years experience in a manufacturing environment Strong business acumen and have experience presenting to Board level Process improvement experience An engineering/science related degree Experience in Health & Safety Materials management experience. Strong influencing skills and the ability to motivate people within your team. Change management and process improvement experience. Ability to embrace new systems and to educate people in this area. Attention to detail and the ability to foresee problems before they arise. Remuneration Package The client offers an excellent package along with benefits. They also offer pension and a bonus structure. As this is a manufacturing and production role, the obligation is to be on site 5 days a week.
