Background
The client has embarked on a business transformation programme which will be enabled with a new finance solution where five existing finance systems will be consolidated into one overall common standard design. The new solution will also support future growth and align to a new finance operating model.
Our finance team is currently undergoing significant transformation, moving from siloed operations to a more centralised and streamlined operating model, enhancing efficiency and consistency across the authority. This shift is crucial for ensuring revenue assurance, particularly with the rise of contactless payments, enabling precise tracking and reconciliation of all transactions.
As part of the new finance operating model, the client has established a new centralised finance centre of expertise, with a requirement for a Financial Accountant to play a key role with a focus on treasury and working capital management as well as month-end reconciliations and management accounting. In this role, you will also coordinate TT's revenue receipts and manage the settlement of balances owed to scheme participants, ensuring back-office tasks are completed to a high standard and within set deadlines.
Role:
The Financial Accountant – Ticketing will play a key role within the TT Finance Team, supporting daily operations, managing working capital, handling reconciliations, and contributing to the preparation of monthly management accounts. The individual will ensure efficient fund management, reconcile income streams, and transition from manual to systemised processes.
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager – Ticketing Operations, the Financial Accountant shall undertake tasks including but not limited to those listed below to the highest standards:

- Support daily working capital management, ensuring liquidity and efficient cash flow management; and

2. Month-End Reconciliations:
- Complete month-end reconciliations for multiple income channels, investigating and resolving any variances.
- Prepare and review balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, ensuring alignment with business units and stakeholders.
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs, providing variance analysis and insights to support decision-making.
3. Additional Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present monthly KPI reports to management, ensuring key financial metrics are monitored;
- Maintain high-quality, up-to-date procedure documents for areas of responsibility;
- Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes;
- Support interim and year-end audit processes and liaise with auditors as needed; and
- Cultivate a positive working environment by ensuring professional and courteous interactions with all stakeholders.
4. Other Responsibilities:
- Support system development and upgrades within the finance function.
- Assist with process improvements and the development of finance controls.
- Carry out other ad-hoc duties as required.
The person:
We require an individual with the below qualities and expertise;
- Good analytical ability, with a logical approach to problem solving and sound judgement;
- Strong organisational and administrative skills;
- A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data;
- Deadline-orientated and an ability to stick to time constraints.
- Strong MS Office skills (proficiency with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint);
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with stakeholders; and
- A ‘can-do’ approach with the ability to organise and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
