Senior Network Administrator (24-Month Fixed-Term Contract) Salary: €50k€70k (approx., depending on experience) Location: Dublin 2 A public-sector organisation is seeking a Senior Network Administrator for a 24-month fixed-term contract, employed via agency. The role sits within the IT Infrastructure team and will support and manage a complex hybrid IT environment across multiple sites. Key Responsibilities Administer Microsoft Active Directory (Windows Server 2016/2019). Manage Microsoft 365, including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams & Cloud PSTN. Configure and support physical and Hyper-V servers, SANs, and Windows Server environments. Manage Fortinet firewalls and global/core network infrastructure. Perform hardware/software upgrades; monitor antivirus deployment and updates. Manage Veeam backups and restores. Ensure network/IP connectivity across workstations, servers and office infrastructure. Diagnose and resolve network performance issues. Apply security updates/patches and monitor network security. Support incident resolution, risk management, and disaster recovery planning/testing. Provide 3rd-level support to internal IT teams. Maintain infrastructure documentation; participate in IT procurement. Travel and occasional out-of-hours work may be required. Essential Qualifications & Experience The following up-to-date Fortinet certifications are mandatory: NSE4 NSE6 (FortiNAC) NSE7 Additional requirements: Level 8 degree (or equivalent). Strong knowledge of SCCM, DPM, Defender, Intune, PRTG, Microsoft Hyper-V. Experience with network analysis tools: SNMP, Wireshark, PRTG. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs (Firewall, Switch & Hyper-V). Experience managing hybrid on-prem/cloud environments (including Azure). Excellent communication, problem-solving and planning ability. Ability to work under pressure, maintain confidentiality, and operate independently. Full drivers licence (desirable).
