Staff Nurse - Day Care Unit Bon Secours Hospital Limerick at Barringtons is currently recruiting for a Registered General Nurse into the Endoscopy Day Care Unit. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering high quality patient care in a dynamic working environment. The Endoscopy Day Care Unit predominantly caters for patient's pre and post Endoscopy procedures and Haemochromatosis patients by performing Venesection. With the relocation to the New Hospital Limerick planned for September 2025 a new endoscopy unit is being developed. This will encapsulate a rotating position between the endoscopy ward and post anaesthetic care unit. Minor urology procedures will also be cared for in this area. Post: Full-time permanent position Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate is required to be flexible in both working days and times. Roster: This is a rotational roster whereby the combined weekly hours will be worked over a 2-week period. Currently under construction, the new Hospital opens in 2025 and will see the expansion of surgical specialties currently delivered by Bon Secours Hospital Limerick at Barringtons plus the addition of cardiology, MAU and other medical services. Job Requirements: Registration in the General Division of the live register of nurses kept by the NMBI. Competent in Venepuncture and Cannulation is desirable. 12 months recent acute hospital experience is desirable Strong clinical and communication skills are required. Role Responsibilities: Telephone pre assessment of Endoscopy patients. Ensure a high standard of care is always maintained. Pre and post procedure care of Endoscopy patients. To communicate effectively with patients and families. To ensure all documentation relating to patients is accurately maintained in accordance with the medical records policy. To practice within and support the Bon Secours Mission and Values, policies, procedures, guidelines, and new initiatives as directed / introduced by the hospital.
