Overview We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer with 4-5 years of experience to join a leading main contractor delivering major pharma and data centre projects. This role is ideal for a technically skilled engineer with a strong background in electrical system design, who wants to work on large-scale, complex projects.
Location Dublin, Ireland
Key Responsibilities Design and develop electrical systems for high-value pharmaceutical and data centre projects.
Produce detailed electrical schematics, layouts, and specifications in line with project requirements.
Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure seamless integration of designs.
Perform load calculations, cable sizing, and equipment selection for critical power and HVAC systems.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards (IEC, BS, EN), and client specifications.
Work closely with the construction and commissioning teams to support installation and testing.
Conduct design reviews, technical assessments, and risk evaluations throughout the project lifecycle.
Utilise Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM software to develop and coordinate electrical designs.
Proficiency in Dialux & Amtech for lighting and electrical calculations.
Experience with AutoCAD and understanding of the need for AutoRevit/BIM software for project coordination.
Requirements 4-5 years of experience in electrical design engineering, ideally within pharma or data centre environments.
Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Strong knowledge of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, and control systems.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Dialux, and Amtech for electrical design and coordination.
Ability to problem-solve complex electrical challenges and work efficiently in a team.
Strong communication and technical report-writing skills.
