Overview
Senior Electrical Design Engineer role in Dublin with a leading Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Consultancy. We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with 5+ years’ experience to join a leading Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Consultancy. This role is ideal for a technically skilled engineer with a strong background in electrical systems design for commercial and residential building projects.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop electrical systems for commercial and residential buildings, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and control systems.

Produce detailed electrical schematics, layouts, and specifications in line with project requirements.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams, clients, and contractors to ensure integrated and compliant electrical designs.

Perform load calculations, cable sizing, and equipment selection for power and HVAC systems.

Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations (IEC, BS, EN) and client specifications.

Support project stages from concept through to construction documentation and commissioning.

Conduct design reviews, technical assessments, and risk evaluations throughout the project lifecycle.

Use Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM software for electrical design development and coordination.

Utilise Dialux and Amtech for lighting design and electrical calculations.

Requirements

3–5 years’ experience in electrical design engineering within a building services consultancy environment.

Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Strong knowledge of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and control systems in building services.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Dialux, and Amtech.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in design teams.

Excellent communication and technical report writing skills.
