Role

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Consultant within our growing Fund Accounting department. The Senior Consultant is responsible for accurately reviewing and signing off NAV calculations, is the subject matter expert on the team for all fund-specific requirements, and takes the lead in rolling out new system enhancements and procedures. They will also collate and provide feedback from the Fund Accounting department to relevant stakeholders. The Senior Consultant may be an individual contributor or have one or two direct reports. This role is suitable for candidates with prior fund accounting or relevant operational/accounting experience seeking career progression in a 'best in class' environment.

A Senior Consultant's day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Operational Risk Management
- Client Service and Quality - Accuracy & Timeliness
- Productivity and Change Control Management
- Outsourcing and Oversight

Principal Responsibilities

- Coordinate and lead systems testing and procedures within the team.
- Serve as the technical and subject matter expert on all fund-specific requirements.
- Mentor team members during projects and assignments.
- Lead cross-functional process or project deliverables, minimizing errors.
- Maintain industry knowledge and stay updated on emerging trends.
- Develop and execute long-term departmental strategies.
- Promote a client service culture and ensure quality service delivery.
- Design and implement development, training, and succession plans for staff.
- Delegate projects and tasks, maintaining accountability and providing feedback.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand and manage business needs.
- Proactively resolve issues and develop key communications for projects and activities.

Skills / Experience

- Prior fund accounting or operational/accounting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Enterprise and related Fund Accounting applications, with ability to interface with other systems.
- Understanding of industry and Northern Trust systems, infrastructure, and data flows.
- Experience with vendors like Bloomberg, Reuters is advantageous.
- Strong communication, presentation, and client service skills.
- Willingness to assist team members outside direct responsibilities.
- Good prioritization, multitasking, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to organize workload and set priorities.
- Knowledge of standards and procedures for tasks.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other PC skills.
- Third-level qualification or pursuit of professional accounting qualification is a plus but not mandatory.
