The Role As a Maintenance Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the hotel by carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and preventative upkeep across all areas of the property. Key Responsibilities Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections throughout the hotel (including guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, and meeting spaces). Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues (plumbing, electrical, heating, air conditioning, etc.). Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health & safety regulations. Monitor and report defects or hazards, escalating to management where required. Liaise with external contractors and service engineers as needed. Follow planned preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime. Support energy conservation initiatives and assist in controlling maintenance-related costs. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and stock levels (tools, bulbs, etc.). Uphold professional appearance, punctuality, and confidentiality at all times. What Were Looking For Previous experience in a maintenance, engineering, or similar role (hospitality experience a plus). Knowledge of plumbing, electrics, and basic building services desirable. Ability to work on own initiative. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Professional, reliable, and proactive attitude.
