The successful candidate will play a critical role in safeguarding the Banks infrastructure and applications from DDoS threats. Working across on-premise and cloud platforms, with industry-leading DDoS Mitigation vendors you will mange and enhance the Bank's edge and perimeter security services, focusing on controls such as Cloud DDoS, Cloud WAF, datacentre perimeter security and DNS protection. The successful candidate is a Architect in the field of network security, whose primary focus is to safeguard the Bank from DDoS threats and ensure minimal impact on network performance of inbound customer and colleague traffic during DDoS events. This role will involve leveraging technical expertise with vendor management to ensure the resilience and security of our systems against evolving DDoS threats. The candidate will demonstrate experience for tackling complex challenges and articulate specific examples demonstrating the ability to effectively articulate DDoS Mitigation control measures, while also demonstrating capabilities to work well as port of the Bank's Incident Management processes. The DDoS Protection Architect will work together with security architects, cyber defence teams, network Architects, security engineers and analysts. Responsibilities: Management of and collaboration with leading DDoS Mitigation technology vendors to assess DDoS resilience and to ensure response-readiness. Design and implement strategies to ensure cloud-based and on-premises technology is best placed to deal with DDoS threats. Perform risk assessments and gap analysis of current network infrastructure related to DDoS exposure. Identify opportunities to enhance DDoS protection and streamline operational workflows and manage implementation of same. Ensure DDoS Mitigation controls within the environment are optimised in an automated fashion. Work closely with system architects, SOC's and wider group technology teams to ensure secure traffic flow and high availability. Drive DDoS incident response, planning and execution. Requirements: 5-7+ years previous experience in network security engineering Experience with network perimeter and edge design Experience in managing DDoS mitigation solutions and ensuring technology is optimised to defend against DDoS attacks. Proficiency with automation scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell Experience with incident response processes, particularly in DDoS context Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, for example, IP, TCP, UDP, BGP This is a permanent role based in Dublin/Cork.
