The Role: As a Corporate Solicitor at Partner level, you will play a key role in driving the firm's corporate practice forward, handling high-value, high-profile transactions, and working with an exciting and diverse range of clients. The successful candidate will be expected to: Lead and manage a portfolio of corporate clients across a variety of sectors, providing high-level advice on mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance, capital markets, joint ventures, and general corporate advisory matters. Manage complex transactions from inception to completion, demonstrating a strategic understanding of clients' business needs and delivering solutions that align with their objectives. Develop and maintain strong relationships with both existing clients and potential clients, ensuring the firm remains their trusted advisor for all corporate legal matters. Supervise and mentor junior lawyers within the corporate team, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities. Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas, working alongside other partners and specialists to provide comprehensive legal services to clients. Contribute to the strategic development of the firm's corporate practice, helping to grow the department and contribute to its continued success. Key Responsibilities: Lead on complex corporate transactions, including M&A, private equity deals, restructuring, joint ventures, and general corporate law. Manage client relationships, understanding their needs and providing tailored, commercially-focused legal advice. Provide leadership to junior associates, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Actively participate in business development efforts, helping to generate new client opportunities and expand the firm's market presence. Oversee and review corporate documents, contracts, and other legal materials. Represent clients in negotiations, ensuring that their interests are protected while facilitating effective and efficient outcomes. Develop and execute strategies for expanding the corporate practice, including identifying new areas of growth and client opportunities. Required Qualifications & Skills: Qualified Solicitor with at least 7 years PQE in a reputable commercial law firm with a focus on corporate law. Proven experience in managing high-value corporate transactions and providing strategic legal advice to clients. Strong technical expertise in corporate law, including M&A, capital markets, and general corporate governance. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to supervise and mentor junior lawyers effectively. A proactive and entrepreneurial approach to business development, with a track record of winning new work and expanding client relationships. Strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand and address clients' business needs. A client-centric approach with a focus on delivering high-quality, practical solutions.
