Overview
We are looking for a Commercial Motor Underwriter to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will play a key role in underwriting commercial motor, motor fleet, and motor schemes portfolio, helping the business grow profitably. This role isn’t just about underwriting renewals — you’ll be working across commercial motor, motor fleet, and motor schemes, building relationships, making solid underwriting decisions, and contributing to the profitable growth of the business.
Hybrid: South Dublin (2 days on site)
Day to day / Responsibilities
- Underwriting commercial motor business in line with agreed standards, limits, and financial objectives.
- Handle referrals and queries within your underwriting authority and in line with company guidelines.
- Collaborate with your team and other departments to provide excellent service and support to clients.
- Completing all tasks in line with Department Procedures, including renewals, complaints, error management, SLAs, and personal business objectives.
- Contribute to a high-performance environment by participating in training, mentoring, and internal quality reviews.
Your profile / Qualifications
- APA qualified - working towards the qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in underwriting. The role is designed for someone who can already handle commercial accounts.
- Proven track record of strong performance and decision-making.
- Strong technical understanding of insurance products and underwriting principles.
- Positive, proactive, and self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
