Context

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in the Dublin office to support the delivery of an exciting pipeline of key transport infrastructure projects. This position within our MEP engineering team will suit a committed and focused engineer who can demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to play their part in a high-performance team. Missions/Main Duties

The Senior Electrical Engineer will work with a team of engineers and professionals producing/overseeing the design delivery of key MEP design projects as instructed by the Project Manager, Team Leader or Lead Engineer. They will also support the Business Development team to explore further opportunities in Ireland and support proposals to secure further projects.

The Senior Electrical Engineer’s key responsibilities will include:

- Ensuring designs are completed to meet clients’ requirements.
- Ensuring designs are completed to the agreed timescales.
- Planning the allocated design works to meet the agreed timescales.
- Identifying changes to the project’s client requirements and raising the changes with the Project Manager, Team Leader or Lead Engineer.
- Supporting the Business Development team to explore new opportunities within Ireland.
- Supporting or leading the electrical elements of bids.
- Supporting UK projects where required.

Profile/Skills

- Knowledge of electrical services design within the built environment and/or transport infrastructure including railway lineside systems (points heating, signalling power, level crossings, LV distribution) and/or lighting, small power, containment, earthing or fire alarms.
- Experience in the use of Trimble ProDesign/Electrical OM, Microstation/AutoCAD and/or Relux/Dialux Design Software.
- Knowledge of multi-disciplinary issues associated with M&E and/or building services.
- Experience of supporting bidding activities and producing electrical estimates for multi-disciplinary opportunities.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- A self-motivated team player able to work with minimal supervision.
- Able to build and maintain good relationships with engineers from other internal discipline teams to promote good inter-discipline working relationships and a “One Team” ethos.
- Able to undertake overseas assignments where required.
- Experience in working with offshore Production Centres.
- Ideally an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer.
- Qualified to HNC or equivalent.
- Experience of working in ProjectWise and/or BIM Standards.
- Knowledge of construction principles and standards.
