Our well-established client is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to help shape and deliver a modern enterprise data platform. This position involves working with contemporary cloud-based data technologies to support business intelligence, analytics, and large-scale data integration across the organisation. This s a daily rate contract role with a minimum 12 month duration and a competitive daily rate. It will mostly be remote working but you must be willing to go on site in Dublin City Centre when required (with advance notice) Key Responsibilities Partner with stakeholders to design cloud-based data solutions capable of processing large datasets and applying complex business logic. Build and refine data models, pipelines, and transformations, presenting insights through BI tools such as Power BI or similar platforms. Develop and maintain high-quality SQL code for data processing, diagnostics, and issue resolution. Automate and orchestrate data workflows to ingest, cleanse, transform, and deliver data to warehouses, reporting systems, and analytics environments. Troubleshoot and maintain the data platform and its related components. Contribute to the development of emerging AI-driven use cases. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data engineering team members. Experience required: 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer At least 2 years working with modern cloud-based data technologies (e.g., tools within the Azure Data ecosystem such as Fabric, Synapse, or Data Factory). Relevant cloud data certifications are desirable but not essential Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to write clear, maintainable code. Excellent communication skills.
