About the role

Working as part of the HR team and reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will take responsibility for delivering accurate and compliant payroll for c. 800 employees. While the function is outsourced, this role is hands-on, with full accountability for calculations, checks, reconciliations, and audit compliance.

In addition to payroll operations, the role offers involvement in broader HR initiatives, including job architecture projects, audits, and restructuring work, making it a great opportunity for someone seeking to broaden their HR and reward experience.

Key responsibilities

- Manage and process monthly payroll (c. 800 staff) and quarterly payrolls through an outsourced provider.

- Complete all payroll calculations, reconciliations, and statutory returns.

- Provide manual payroll calculations and respond to employee queries.

- Administer pensions, healthcare, and other benefit schemes.

- Support pension scheme compliance, reporting, and reconciliations.

- Contribute to job architecture frameworks and HR process improvements.

- Maintain strong audit, compliance, and governance standards.

About you

- 3+ years’ payroll processing experience with strong knowledge of Irish tax, PRSI, and levies.

- Experience in public or semi-state organisations highly desirable.

- Proven track record of working in audit-heavy and compliance-focused environments.

- Previous exposure to job restructuring or job architecture projects advantageous.

- Strong systems literacy and HRIS experience.

- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
