Morgan McKinley has partnered with a leading practice with offices in Cork and Bantry to hire a Trainee Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a related Honors Degree and will be provided a professional qualification training contract with paid subscription and tuition fees.

What you will be doing:

- Preparation of financial statements for clients
- Preparation of financial highlights disclosures for financial statements
- Preparation of management accounts on a periodic basic (monthly/quarterly/etc)
- Preparation of excel schedules and notes as support for financial statements
- Liaising with external parties in relation to financial statements, including investment managers, administrators, auditors and other service providers
- Present financial statements for review to the Practice Manager/Principal
- Assistance with research of complicated transactions to ensure the accounting treatment is correct

Requirements:

- Related Honours degree
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to plan, prioritise between tasks and adhere to strict time deadlines
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Some industry experience in an accounting role would be an advantage
- Academic knowledge of IFRS and GAAP accounting principles would be an advantage
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
- A keen interest in learning and in career progression
- Legal right to work in Ireland
