Job Title: Network Data & Security Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Key Responsibilities:

Network Security Operations:

• Develop and implement secure network architectures, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security systems.

• Ensure compliance with security standards like ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS, etc.

Threat Management:

· Analyze, detect, and mitigate network vulnerabilities and threats.

· Lead incident response activities, including root cause analysis and resolution.

Policy and Compliance:

· Establish and enforce security policies, guidelines, and procedures.

· Conduct periodic security audits and assessments.

Technical Expertise:

· Manage security tools such as firewalls, SIEM, DLP, anti-virus, and endpoint protection.

· Optimize network security performance while ensuring minimal operational disruption.

Collaboration and Training:

· Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate security into all phases of network operations.

· Provide technical training and mentorship to junior team members.

Documentation:

· Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation for all network security configurations and processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Experience:

8+ years of experience in network security roles, including a minimum of 3 years in an SME capacity.

Certifications:

Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISM, CEH, CCNP Security, or equivalent.

Technical Expertise:

· In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, etc.).

· Proficiency in tools like Wireshark, Metasploit, Kali Linux, etc.

· Experience with cloud security in environments like Azure

· Hands-on experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or similar technologies.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Certification: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) (mandatory).

Network Data Operations:

· Design, configure, and deploy complex data network solutions, including LAN/WAN, wireless, and SD-WAN.

· Implement advanced routing and switching technologies (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, etc.).

Performance Optimization:

· Monitor, analyse, and troubleshoot network performance issues.

· Optimize network configurations to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.

Technical Leadership:

· Serve as the SME for all network data-related issues, providing guidance to teams and stakeholders.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network solutions with business requirements.

Security and Compliance:

· Ensure network solutions align with security standards and policies.

· Manage firewalls, VPNs, and other network security measures.

Documentation and Training:

· Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.

· Train and mentor junior engineers and operational teams on best practices.

Vendor Management:

· Work with vendors for hardware/software procurement, troubleshooting, and support.

Experience:

5+ years of experience in designing and managing enterprise-grade networks.

Hands-on expertise with Cisco routers, switches, and wireless solutions.

Technical Skills:

· Strong knowledge of routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP) and switching technologies. Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, etc.)

· Familiarity with SD-WAN, MPLS, QoS, and VLAN architectures.

· Understanding of network security concepts (ACLs, VPNs, firewalls).

· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
