We are recruiting for a Meetings & Events (M&E) Executive. The Reservations Office at the Carlton Hotel Dublin Airport is one of the main liaison points between guests/clients and the Hotel, as well as working closely with other Hotel departments. The M&E operation, sitting within Reservations, has a significant bearing on our guests'/clients impression of the Hotel, as well as being a key revenue driver. We are currently recruiting for an experienced, passionate M&E Executive to join our busy Reservations Team on a fulltime basis. You will be dealing with high volumes of meetings/events-related reservations and associated enquiries, and all enquiries must be dealt with in a friendly but professional, comprehensive and efficient manner. You will be genuinely caring and have very strong organisational and interpersonal skills, key to this important customer-facing/interfacing role. We are offering you: A certified Great Place to Work, with great colleagues A competitive salary/package Free meals while on duty Uniforms An IHF-sponsored Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Free car parking (parking while on holidays if travelling from Dublin Airport) Free shuttle to and from Dublin Airport for employees whose bus goes to the Airport Employee engagement initiatives e.g. free yoga classes, fitness programmes Training and development opportunities for internal and external training Annual Social Events Christmas Party, Summer BBQ, etc. Annual Tax-saver and Bike to Work scheme offered to all eligible employees Health-related benefits after the qualifying period of service Specific responsibilities in this role include: Being fully familiar with our products and services (meeting rooms, rooms, outlets, packages, special offers, corporate rates), local amenities, events taking place locally, etc. Dealing with inbound M&E enquiries, including special requests, in a friendly but professional, timely, comprehensive, and efficient manner, including taking, recording/processing, and cancelling reservations so that our systems are always up to date Facilitating site inspections by clients, and handling any follow-up interactions To assist with the maximisation of meeting room and other associated revenue, occupancy percentages, etc., through efficient and effective sales/upselling activities, in conjunction with the Reservations Manager/wider Meetings & Events Team and with the other relevant Departments, particularly Sales To ensure all corporate/guest requests and other relevant information is confirmed with the client and communicated to all relevant Departments in a clear and timely manner To build strong relationships with corporate clients/guests, dealing efficiently, politely, and professionally with corporate client/guest feedback, and maximising satisfaction levels Attending meetings as required To ensure all charges are properly communicated and processed Ideally, bringing forward initiatives and innovations for consideration Ensuring that you maintain the highest possible standard of personal hygiene, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct at all times Adhering to our GDPR, health & safety training, and other relevant policies, and procedures Engaging in planning activities as required Successful applicants must: Ideally, have at least two years of previous, relevant M&E experience within the Hotel / hospitality sector and, particularly, the Dublin corporate and events market Demonstrate a willingness to learn, as training will be provided Have a calm, efficient, professional and organised approach to your work, being very capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment Be highly motivated, and have excellent presentation and interpersonal skills Demonstrate the highest level of attention to detail Be business-minded, always seeking opportunities to maximise sales and profitability Be able to work hands-on, as part of a Team or on your own initiative Be fully computer literate (incl. MS Office), able to produce sales- and financial-related documentation and reports if/as required Possess excellent written and spoken English for this key customer-facing/interfacing role Ideally, have good working knowledge of reservations software (knowledge of MEWS, Event Temple, and Delphi, would be a distinct advantage but full training will be provided) Be flexible as regards shift work patterns (our operation covers Monday to Friday) Have a good standard of health, appropriate to the role Skills: Attention to detail Friendliness Customer Service Flexibility Teamwork Organisational Skills Sales
