Quantity Surveyor, Dublin (Global Consultancy)
DesignBuild Search are working with a global leading Engineering and construction consultancy in Dublin. Due to a strong portfolio of works including commercial, residential, aviation and infrastructure they have opportunities for experienced Quantity Surveyors. The candidates should ideally be a Chartered or working towards it.

Responsibilities

Analyse blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials and labour costs vs estimates.

Perform quantity surveying duties including measurements, valuation and agreement of work sections.

Experience in project management.

Competent in all forms of estimating packages, Microsoft Excel and Word.

Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction managers/supervisors to discuss cost.

Monitor costs from vendors or subcontractors, explore variances, manage issues in conjunction with the manager, handle cost overseas and recovery.

Report on actual costs and examine estimates used by management for planning, organising and scheduling work.

Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.

Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.

Qualifications

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying.

7+ years post-qualification experience with a PQS.

Experience in mentoring junior quantity surveyors.

Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
