Relief Kitchen Assistant - Listowel Meals on Wheels Location: Listowel, Co. SVP employs people to support volunteers in a variety of settings including housing, community care, shops, administration, and other specialist areas. The Role: We are currently looking to recruit a Relief Kitchen Assistant (Variable Hours) to join our child and Family Services team in Listowel, Co. Kerry. The post holder will have responsibility to provide professional and qualified cover in the Kitchen to an employed staff member when current kitchen staff are on holidays or on sick leave, and will ensure we meet our regulatory and legislative requirements under HSE, Food Safety and Employment legislation at all times during the operation of this is a great opportunity to join one of Ireland's largest voluntary organisations and make a difference in your community. Candidate Requirements: EDUCATION Minimum Qualification in HACCP Level 1 is required for this role KNOWLEDGE A knowledge and appreciation of the Society, its ethos, mission and values. To have an understanding of basic health and safety issues, food safety guidelines & the HACCP principles. A satisfactory knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the post. To be aware of the standards expected to be met within a kitchen. A satisfactory standard of the technical knowledge and understanding required to perform the duties of the post. EXPERIENCE Experience working in a food preparation area or Kitchen or in a similar role. Experience working in a holiday home, hotel, bar or similar organisation. SKILLS An ability to communicate and work safely with all. The ability to maintain professional boundaries. The ability to work as part of a team, and on own initiative where required.
