This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a highly motivated HR professional to become a key member of our HR People Services team, managing, supporting and providing expert advice to all Irish Life / Canada Life Group companies in Ireland on a broad range of HR, ER and IR issues to support the delivery of the business strategy.

Key Accountabilities

- Advise, support, and provide expert guidance to People Managers and the People Partner team in managing ER issues to ensure fairness and equity when dealings with our people.
- Oversee the effective management of individual cases across the group, ensuring they are dealt with in accordance with the company's policies and in line with current legislation.
- Ensure the smooth delivery of the IR agenda across the group and represent the company's position at a third party e.g. WRC/Labour Court.
- Build and develop working relationships with Unite committee members to enable better IR negotiations.
- Be a trusted counsel to the business and create solid relationships with people managers, People Partners and key influencers to ensure this role is involved, adds value and supports the business to implement its strategy plan from the outset.
- Drive performance improvement and ensure absence is managed appropriately to support the company's high-performance culture.
- Develop, implement and update company policies in line with legislation and best practice to support the employee experience proposition.

Desired Knowledge / Experience / Skills

- A third level qualification in HR or a suitable alternative qualification
- A comprehensive knowledge of Irish employment legislation and practices
- Relevant experience in providing HR guidance and advice, specifically with an Employee Relations lens
- Ideally have strong negotiation skills and experience, negotiating with trade unions.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the proven ability to positively influence decision making and behaviors, including with Senior Stakeholders.
