Our client, a prominent Irish manufacturing company specialising in the design, production, and installation of high-quality steel structures, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their Senior Leadership Team. This is a pivotal role within a growing organisation that takes pride in delivering durable, precision-engineered products backed by world-class manufacturing and installation processes. Due to ongoing growth and expansion, the successful candidate will lead the Production and Logistics functions managing a team of approximately 8090 employees and play a key role in driving operational excellence across the business. About the Role Purcell O' Leary Recruitment are recruiting for an Operations Manager who will reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Operations Manager will oversee all aspects of design, manufacturing, logistics, and installation to ensure that every project meets the companys high standards of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role will suit an accomplished operations professional with strong leadership skills and a proven track record in managing complex, multi-departmental teams in a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities of the Operations Manager Lead and manage day-to-day operations across manufacturing, logistics, design, and installation. Oversee production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification. Manage and develop a team of 8090 employees, including production supervisors, logistics coordinators, and installation teams. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, output, and cost efficiency. Collaborate closely with design, production, and sales teams to ensure seamless project execution. Manage subcontractors and installation teams to achieve safety, quality, and performance targets. Develop and mentor team leaders to build capability, accountability, and engagement. Monitor KPIs and operational performance, providing insights and reports to the Managing Director. Support the implementation of new systems, technologies, and process improvements. Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Lead workforce planning, including production line layout, staffing levels, and multi-shift operations. Foster a positive workplace culture focused on safety, productivity, and teamwork. Candidate Requirements of the Operations Manager Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing management or senior operations leadership role. Strong leadership experience managing large teams (80+ employees). Proven track record of improving operational performance in a manufacturing or production environment. Knowledge of Lean, continuous improvement, or process optimisation methodologies. Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills. Commercially astute, hands-on, and results driven. Desirable: Experience managing multi-shift operations in a world-class manufacturing environment. Third-level qualification in Business, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Minimum 5 years experience in production planning and resource management.
