Overview Our client is a world-renowned leader in the area of medical devices and is currently expanding the Irish team. IT Search has been engaged to speak to a Senior Staff/Principal Engineer to help design and execute highly scalable and secure systems, working closely with counterparts in the USA. This senior role focuses on leading delivery of architectures and applying extensive AWS and Serverless Computing knowledge to drive secure, scalable solutions.
This role will suit a very senior Engineer comfortable working across teams, leading architecture delivery and collaborating with multiple stakeholders. The position offers a pathway to significant responsibility and impact in the years to come.
Responsibilities Liaise closely with international colleagues to adapt, architect and deliver Serverless solutions
Understand impact of processes across DevOps, Development, Product and Senior Management
Communicate ongoing objectives to board level, working within and shaping global distributed architectural strategies
Take responsibility for teams of engineers, mentoring and guiding to bring teams on this journey
Requirements 10/15 years of post-grad commercial experience, the majority within Development/DevOps/Architecture
Significant strength and experience leading AWS related strategy
Serverless experience a must, with cloud-native environments as your natural home; Microservices and Lambda; NoSQL and related experience a plus
Track record of leadership of technical teams, defining expectations and architecture within a large organisation while remaining hands on
Development ability is key on an ongoing basis, ideally with Python
Observability, pipeline knowledge, IaC all should be a given for this role
Exceptional communication skills and passion for your work
This is a senior position, attracting a significant salary and package, and will require occasional liaison outside of local working hours (with USA). Onsite visits to the Dublin South location will be required at least weekly (likely two/three days initially).
