Facilities Manager – Tigers Childcare
Dublin (with travel across sites) | Full-time | Permanent | €50,000 to €65,000 DOE
Are you passionate about creating environments where children and colleagues thrive? Do you have the strategic and operational know-how to lead safe, efficient and compliant childcare facilities? We’re looking for a Facilities Manager to join our Tigers Childcare team.
About Tigers Childcare
At Tigers Childcare, we create exceptional learning and care environments where children thrive through play, exploration and meaningful relationships. With 27 centres, we are proud to be one of Ireland’s leading childcare providers committed to continuous improvement, inclusion and child‑led learning.
Our values centre on respect, curiosity, collaboration and professionalism – for children, families and each other. When you join Tigers, you join a warm and progressive team that supports your growth and wellbeing every step of the way.
About the Role
This key leadership role is responsible for ensuring that all Tigers Childcare sites operate in a safe, compliant, and well‑maintained manner. The Facilities Manager will oversee hard and soft facilities management, lead the internal maintenance team, manage contractor relationships and serve as the organisation’s lead health and safety officer.
You’ll play a central role in supporting site expansions, ensuring readiness for inspections and embedding a proactive facilities and safety culture across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement facilities strategies that ensure all sites are safe, clean and fully operational.
Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance across a multi‑site environment.
Manage and evaluate contractors and service providers for value and compliance.
Lead a team of maintenance staff and provide clear direction, training and support.
Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation and childcare regulations.
Maintain safety statements, risk assessments, emergency protocols and compliance documentation.
Lead audits, inspections and regulatory engagements (e.g. Tusla, HSA).
Manage facilities budgets, procurement and contract negotiations.
Support site openings, refurbishments and major maintenance projects.
What We’re Looking For
Required
Third level qualification in Facilities Management, Health & Safety or a related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a facilities management role, multi‑site preferred.
Strong knowledge of building systems, compliance standards and contractor management.
Proven ability to manage budgets and deliver cost‑effective solutions.
Experience conducting safety audits, leading compliance and working with regulators.
Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
Full clean driver’s licence and willingness to travel across sites (own vehicle required).
Desirable
Recognised Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH, CIF).
Experience in childcare, education, healthcare or another regulated setting.
Interest or experience in sustainability and environmental initiatives.
What You’ll Get as Part of the Tigers Team
A senior leadership role with real scope to shape the safety, functionality and compliance of childcare environments nationwide.
Full ownership of the Facilities function, working closely with the Executive Team and influencing cross‑organisational priorities.
Involvement in expansion projects, including new centre openings, fit‑outs and compliance readiness.
A role that directly contributes to the health, wellbeing and safety of children and colleagues every day.
A progressive, supportive culture where professionalism and accountability are genuinely respected.
Salary of €50,000 – €60,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
Mileage and expense reimbursement (depending on business needs).
Mobile phone and laptop provided.
25 days annual leave, with additional days linked to service.
Performance‑related bonus (up to 8%).
Pension scheme (5% employer contribution) and enhanced family leave policies.
Access to the Tigers Employee Wellbeing Programme.
All roles are subject to Garda Vetting and reference checks in line with regulatory requirements and Tigers Childcare’s Safeguarding Policy.
Tigers Childcare is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
