Job Title:Tourism & Events Business Development & Marketing Officer Responsible to:Church Operations Manager and Rector This is a full time permanent role; 40 hours per week. There will be a requirement to work some weekends and evenings. St Nicholas Collegiate Church St Nicholas Collegiate Church (founded 1320) is the spiritual heart of the city, and one of the top visitor attractions in Galway. The Church is also popular as a venue for concerts, gala dinners, and other events. Job Description Purpose of Role: To grow and develop tourism and marketing at St Nicholas Collegiate Church Areas of Responsibility Tourism Taking all tour operator bookings,(1) inserting them in the CRM (Fare Harbor), (2) following the booking through to the point where an invoice has been raised; Creating and maintaining a tour operator contracts file; Key account management Developing a clear understanding of the clients needs and deadlines, and ensuring that the client has all the necessary material and information to decide to book; Assisting with Business Tourism quoting for events and maintaining the diary; Showarounds, fam trips and site inspections for both business and leisure tourism; Learn the tour script and give guided tours as needed Attendance at and follow up after industry events as required by your manager; Coordination with our tourism partners (GCC, Bord Filte, Latin Quarter, etc); Coordinating the Bord Filte Digital That Delivers programme Establishing relationships with accommodation and tourism providers with a view to growing visitor numbers Communications and Marketing Creating, adapting and sourcing material to keep our website up to date; Assist with developing and maintaining our strong social media presence; Developing and maintaining a database of images, designs and illustrations; Liaising with service providers, designers and printers on outsourced projects; Developing social media campaigns, strategies and schedules in conjunction with relevant staff and external agencies. Management of CRM Responsibility for development and maintenance of marketing plan and its budget General Prepare for and attend ops meetings and carry out any follow up required; cover the welcome desk as needed; General office duties; Understand and work within the ethos and values of St Nicholas Collegiate Church, acting in a professional and ethical way at all times when representing the organisation; Any other duties that are deemed necessary Person Specification Qualifications and Knowledge Essential A degree in a relevant discipline. Excellent computer skills across common suites such as Microsoft, as well as proficiency in common web platforms such as WordPress. Desirable Experience in strategic planning of communications through a variety of media Knowledge of editorial use of photography and images Practical knowledge of professional design and multimedia software packages for example InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator or equivalent Video experience using a GoPro or similar and editing the footage for digital marketing purposes Relevant Experience Experience of using social media to promote events and retain audiences Experience of maintaining and developing content for websites The nature of the tourism and events industry is that from time to time you will be required to start work early or remain after hours.
