Dublin IE D H Ornua Full time

Ornua is an Irish dairy co-operative that markets and sells dairy products on behalf of its Members, Ireland’s dairy processors and, in turn, Irish dairy farmers. Ornua is Ireland’s largest exporter of Irish dairy products and has annualised sales of €3.4 billion. Headquartered in Dublin, Ornua has a strong global team of 2,900 employees, operating from 10 business units worldwide, including 13 production facilities. Ornua’s core purpose is to build profitable routes to market for Irish dairy products.

The Group is structured across two divisions: Ornua Foods and Ornua Ingredients. Ornua Foods is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands, including Ireland’s most successful food export, Kerrygold, as well as Kerrygold Dubliner, Pilgrims Choice, Forto and BEO milk powders.

Ornua Ingredients is responsible for the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products, for the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers across the world, and for managing volatility through de-risking and trading strategies.

Ornua’s Values

At Ornua, our Values lie at the core of everything that we do and how we behave both individually and as a business. Our five values, and their underlying behaviours, encourage us to Seek and Embrace New Ideas, Make It Happen, Be Our True Selves, Show You Care and Achieve Great Things Together.

Ornua’s Growth

At Ornua, our co-operative ethos lies at the heart of how we do business. We care passionately about driving sustainable, profitable growth, underpinned by our ambitious ‘Path to Prosper’ strategy. We have delivered significant growth in our core business, and we have ambitious plans for continued growth over the next five years.

WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Ornua’s sustainability team for an ESG Reporting Specialist. The role will report to the Head of ESG Reporting, working closely with Ornua’s group sustainability specialists, operational sustainability leads and business units across Ornua’s global operations.

The role will coordinate Ornua’s group ESG reporting requirements and specific focus on the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) implementation journey across all locations and 13 manufacturing sites globally, ensuring regulatory requirements and the group sustainability performance targets are met. Key areas of focus will include the project coordination and sustainability engagement process across Ornua’s upstream, downstream and own value chain. This role will require continuous engagement with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the CSRD are implemented within the required timeframe.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

- Coordinate Ornua’s group ESG reporting implementation plan and ensure Ornua meets regulatory requirements including publishing protocols and timelines.
- Provide support for the group function through project management and data analytics skills to deliver sustainability requirements.
- Engage with site leads, operations and engineering teams as well as the relevant business partners (finance, risk, legal, HR and IT) to develop and fulfill ESG reporting requirements.
- Support relevant business functions in meeting CSRD reporting requirements.
- Monitor any new ESG regulatory updates, drive overall performance and communicate successes internally to the business.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

- 2+ years experience working in sustainability, operational excellence, engineering, finance, project and data management or similar roles.
- A graduate or post graduate qualification in sustainability, finance, energy, engineering, food science, business, project and data management or related fields.
- Good data management, reporting and IT skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Good knowledge of project coordination and food manufacturing processes and systems.

ORNUA COMPETENCIES:

- Forward-Looking: CSRD is a new sustainability reporting directive and requires someone who will think ahead and look at the trends of the first wave reports and reporting tools.
- Ownership: Own and coordinate the CSRD implementation at Ornua through the ESG function.
- Working Together: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop the material topics and data points identified at Ornua through the DMA and stakeholder engagement.
- Communicative: Effective project coordination requires timely communication on the progress of the CSRD implementation plan with relevant stakeholders, and those in the project team.
