You will work as a Health and Safety Practitioner for our client, a highly successful and well-established manufacturing company in Co. Cavan.
As the Health and Safety Practitioner, you will be responsible for promoting the highest level of health and safety practices attainable for the organization and to protect the health and safety of all employees and visitors to the site.
This role is a permanent position operating on a Monday to Friday day-shift.
Your new job
Duties and Responsibilities
- Effective safety promotion, ensuring visibility of health and safety on-site.
- Initiate non-conformances for each accident, dangerous occurrence, and near miss, and record and ensure effectiveness of all corrective actions/preventative measures.
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders regarding regulatory reporting.
- Maintain on-site records and share results with management.
- Focus on fire safety through risk assessments and communication with the fire safety consultant.
- Assess new work procedures and equipment.
- Organize and facilitate safety committee meetings and follow up on issues needing review.
- Ensure all personnel understand their responsibilities, review new legislation, and assess compliance and required actions.
Requirements
- Level 7/8 Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Experience working in health and safety within a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
- Strong ability to collaborate effectively with different departments.
- Attention to detail and strong observational skills.
- Proactive approach to responsibilities.
