About the role The EDI Engagement Coordinator will work as part of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Unit on the delivery of the RCSI EDI Strategy 2024 - 2027. The EDI Engagement Coordinator will be a passionate advocate for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. They will have a good working knowledge of the nine equality grounds and how RCSI is creating a culture that is inclusive and welcoming for all. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a small team, in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will manage the delivery of a comprehensive programme of impactful activity including events, training and effectively communicate this activity through a range of communications channels including social media (Instagram, X and TikTok) and other channels like the website and intranet. The EDI Engagement Coordinator will be accountable for the following tasks, in coordination with the Head of EDI: Specifically, the duties of the post are: 1. Coordination of EDI Events Calendar Organise annual EDI events including: o International Women's Day o Staff Network Events including LGBT Network; Women's Network; Age Friendly Network and Parents/Carers Networks (approx. 16 per annum) o Pride celebration o Access/inclusion Events o Positive Ageing Week o International Men's Day o Launch events for EDI publications o EDI led events - aligned to International Days of Observance Act as the EDI liaison with RCSI Events Department and organise rooms, catering/AV, minute taking and relevant materials as required; Engage with external partners including LGBT Ireland, DRCC and TENI; Collaborate with RCSI INSPIRE, RCSI Gym, Library, Sports & Social Club etc. on EDI related campaigns and initiatives; Manage the day to day administration of the EDI events budget: accountable for processing payments in a timely manner and resolve billing queries; manage correspondences with service vendors. 2. Coordination of EDI Training and Development Calendar Coordinate EDI training requirements, including online and face to face delivery of staff and student training including; o EDI component at staff induction sessions o EDI and Consent Training at student orientation o EDI training o Race Equality training o Consent and Awareness training o Trans 101 training o Autism Awareness training o Disability Awareness training o Support single training sessions as required Research training providers across the equality grounds, and coordinate setting up new suppliers and processing payments; Conduct regular skills based analysis among staff and students; Manage and maintain EDI courses on Moodle (e.g. EDI Mandatory Training, Bystander Intervention training); Deliver presentations on EDI to staff and student audiences. 3. Communications Designated contact for managing the Equality Inbox; Create and manage quarterly EDI newsletter; Manage website updates in partnership with the web team; Design and implement social media strategy aligned to EDI and Institutional goals; Raise profile and visibility of EDI Unit within RCSI and beyond; Create content and campaigns to be shared on social media and Workvivo; Act as EDI Liaison with Design department. 4. Coordination of EDI Committee and Management of VisABILITY Forum Key coordinator of EDI Committee, including secretariat function; Manage cross-disciplinary Committee of RCSI stakeholders; Organise three EDI Committee meetings per annum (room booking, document circulation); Document EDI Committee proceedings and action follow up items; Manage/maintain EDI Committee documentation; Key coordinator of VisABILITY Forum, including secretariat function; Organise three VisABILITY meetings per annum (room booking, document circulation); Coordinate and monitor implementation of VisABILITY Action Plan including management of subgroups. 5. Enrich student life Manage relationship with the Student Union and Postgraduate Student Union throughout the year; Build connections with student societies and clubs to raise awareness of EDI; Recruitment of student representatives for EDI Fora; Lead collaboration on key EDI student initiatives e.g. bystander intervention, gender identity and expression policy; Coordination of EDI orientation programme. 6. Other Raise POs and track EDI budget keeping a record of POs, invoices and spending across the Unit; Represent the EDI Unit on committees such as the Institutional Data Group; Liaise with internal stakeholders (Events, Communications, Estates, Media Services, IT departments) and relevant external vendors to execute events; Represent the best interests of EDI and RCSI at all times; Participate in relevant programmes of training and development as may be required from time to time; Key Requirements: Qualifications Third level qualification in relevant discipline for example Business Administration/Marketing or related field Knowledge & Experience (Essential): Experience in a similar role Skills & Competencies: Strong organisational and administrative skills A passion for equality, diversity and inclusion Excellent IT skills, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Dynamics; SharePoint; online survey tools; Superb verbal and written communication skills Proven social media experience Excellent relationship management skills Meticulous attention to detail Adaptable, creative and innovative Strong project management skills Adaptable and able to work independently and as part of a small team An ability to work at pace and in a complex environment We are all too aware that imposter syndrome and the confidence gap can sometimes stop fantastic candidates putting themselves forward, so please do submit an application.
