At TDM Group, we’re more than just an IT Managed Service Provider — we’re a team of passionate professionals committed to making a difference. Whether it's delivering complex projects on time, achieving personal development goals, or providing an excellent support experience to our clients, we celebrate every success.
About the Role
Our Onsite Support Team plays a critical role in delivering high-quality IT support services directly at client locations. As an Onsite Support Engineer based in Ireland, you will provide hands-on technical assistance, ensure smooth day-to-day operations, and support various infrastructure and end-user environments. The role will require regular travel between Galway and Dublin on a weekly basis, with occasional travel to Shannon and Cork, as well as remote support responsibilities as part of the wider service team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite technical support for end-user devices, hardware, software, and network equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and installations for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Support server rooms, networking equipment, and data centre hardware as needed.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues onsite.
- Liaise with remote support teams to coordinate resolutions when necessary.
- Handle remote support tasks as assigned, which may include assisting the service desk during periods of high demand or scheduled remote shifts.
- Ensure timely incident response and resolution while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Document activities, configurations, and troubleshooting steps accurately in the service management system.
- Travel regularly between client sites in Galway and Dublin, with flexibility based on business needs.
What We’re Looking For
We value individuals who bring professionalism, adaptability, and a strong customer-focused mindset. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- A friendly, service-oriented approach to client interactions.
- Flexibility to handle both onsite and remote technical issues.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with the wider support teams.
- Confidence in dealing with both technical and non-technical users.
Skills & Experience Required
- Bachelor’s Degree, Associate Degree, or equivalent qualification in IT or related field.
- Proven experience in onsite IT support or a technical service desk role.
- Industry certifications (e.g. MCP, A+, Network+, ITIL Foundation, or similar) are an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of end-user computing hardware (PCs, laptops, printers, peripherals).
- Experience supporting:
- Windows 10/11 desktop environments
- Microsoft 365 and Office Suite
- Active Directory (user and group management)
- Basic networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN)
- Apple/macOS environments (desirable)
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Full driving license and ability to travel regularly between Galway and Dublin.
- Ability to work from home on assigned days to support remote users when required.
Why Join TDM Group?
We offer a supportive environment focused on professional growth, continuous learning, and delivering value to our clients. You’ll be part of a collaborative team where your contributions are recognized and where you have the opportunity to develop your technical and customer service skills further.
