Assistant Branch Manager

Location: Charleville/ North Cork

Reports To: Branch Manager & Senior Management

About the Role

Our client is a well-established builders providers serving the construction and DIY sectors across Munster for over 90 years. They pride themselves on offering a comprehensive range of high-quality building materials, home improvement products, and expert advice to both trade professionals and homeowners.

They are now seeking an experienced, sales-driven, and highly motivated Assistant Branch Manager to support the day-to-day operations of their busy branch in Charleville. Working closely with the Branch Manager, you’ll help ensure operational excellence, outstanding service delivery, and continued commercial growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Support a high-performing branch operation, overseeing sales, customer service, stock control, opening/closing procedures, and logistics.
- Lead, motivate, and train staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences and uphold company standards.
- Assist with inventory control, ensuring accurate stock levels and timely replenishment.
- Drive sales performance through proactive customer engagement and business development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety legislation and internal policies.
- Deputise for the Branch Manager as required, maintaining operational continuity.
- Build strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Lead the trade counter team to maximise sales opportunities within the branch.

Skills & Qualifications

- Proven supervisory or management experience within builders providers, construction supply, or a related industry.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organisational abilities.
- Strong product knowledge of building materials and related trades.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to exceptional service.
- Strong commercial awareness and proven sales experience.
- Competency in Microsoft Office and relevant POS/inventory systems.
- Full, clean driving licence.
