Job Purpose: To ensure the site operates efficiently and effectively while delivering the highest level of customer service and fresh food offerings at all times. Responsible for achieving key store targets through the effective management of people and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management Take full responsibility for the efficient day-to-day operations of the site.

Ensure the store meets company standards in merchandising, presentation, and customer care.

Achieve sales, margins, and wastage targets.

Implement HACCP and maintain the highest level of hygiene and compliance throughout the store.

Ensure the store remains clean, well-maintained, and fully compliant with relevant legislation.

Manage rostering, annual leave, and maintain accurate employee records.

Set, monitor, and achieve sales targets, including gross profit margin, net margin, and waste control.

Oversee stocktaking and manage overheads in line with the annual budget.

Lead by example, promoting teamwork and fostering a positive workplace environment.

Train, coach, and develop team members to meet required standards.

Conduct performance and probation reviews, identifying training needs and ensuring development programs are in place.

Maintain strong communication between employees and management in a respectful and inclusive manner.

Maintain full responsibility for site stock range and processes.

Implement planograms correctly and ensure appropriate product range in store.

Merchandising shop area to maximize product performance.

Manage weekly and monthly stock takes.

Perform daily cash reconciliation and cash control.

Conduct daily bank lodgements and report any discrepancies.

Oversee data entry for deliveries, invoices, cash reconciliations, and wet stock data.

Generate and analyze sales reports to track performance.

Facilities & Security Management Address breakdowns and system failures by reporting to the relevant department.

Coordinate contractor call-outs and necessary site maintenance.

Manage security issues and escalate when required.

Ensure customer satisfaction remains the top priority.

Resolve customer complaints at the local level and escalate when necessary.

Follow through on all customer queries and concerns in a timely manner.

Health, Safety & Compliance Lead by example in maintaining safe working practices, following relevant Health & Safety regulations.

Ensure compliance with workplace safety laws for staff, customers, and contractors.

Take responsibility for health, safety, and welfare measures across the site.

Job Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years' experience in a retail management role (Assistant Manager or Site Manager level).

Strong passion for retail, with a proactive and accountable work ethic.

Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.

Ability to interpret and act upon reports to drive performance.

Full clean driver’s license and own transport required.

Excellent communication, delegation, and problem-solving skills.
