IT Senior Project Manager Fully Remote Time Type: Full-time Job Type: Contract (6 months, scope to extend) Client Sector: Funds Services/Financial Commencing Mar 2025 Day Rate: Circa €650 Role Overview: Our client is seeking a highly skilled IT Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale technology transformations within their Depository Banking division. The focus will be on the technical implementation of a new core banking system in Luxembourg. This role will be integral in managing vendor relationships, establishing governance and control, and ensuring the successful delivery of the project. You will report to the Financial Solutions Portfolio Lead and operationally to the Head of Transformation. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Project Management and Communication: Oversee delivery across technology programmes, ensuring alignment with agreed methodology. Set up and chair Steering Committees, providing regular, accurate status updates. Manage projects from initiation to closure, including scoping, requirements definition, resource and financial planning, and quality management. Monitor project components to ensure goals, schedules, budgets, and benefits are achieved. Ensure clear, effective communication with stakeholders at all levels. Lead project meetings and report progress to management groups. Work with the PMO to ensure consistent project documentation that adheres to internal processes and standards. Control cost, schedule, resources, risk, communication, reporting, and change management. Ensure project stage gates are achieved. Project Governance: Align resourcing plans with project deliverables. Plan, execute, and close all project deliverables, managing project activities, milestones, and resources. Apply project standards to build frameworks for assigned projects. Identify, assess, and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain required project documentation, including PID, project plans, and RAID logs. Support financial planning and controls for assigned projects, ensuring projects remain within budget. Produce reports and analyses to manage RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) and ensure project milestones are met. Project Vendor Management: Manage external vendors to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery. Lead the development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for external services, and support vendor selection and management. Administer vendor relationships, including SOW activation and invoice approvals. Ensure that vendors meet deliverable and milestone targets, adhering to agreed schedules and quality standards. Experience and Knowledge: Bachelor's degree required; an advanced degree in IT or MBA preferred. 8+ years of project management experience, managing all phases of technology projects, including budgets over $8mn. 6+ years of experience in large global organisations. 5+ years working in financial services or highly regulated industries is preferred. Experience in Agile practices, particularly SAFE, is desirable. Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, issue analysis, and resolution skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior leadership; proficiency in French is highly desirable. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural global environment. Proficiency in Windows and MS Office products.
