Job Description
Are you an experienced Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) Specialist ready to shape Ireland's future landscape? Join our growing team, where you'll lead on large-scale infrastructure developments, from renewable energy (wind and solar) to sustainable transport, greenways, residential and urban renewal.
Your expertise will be vital in leading the preparation, writing, and review of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments for a variety of projects, including chapters for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs). You'll take ownership of projects from start to finish, managing everything from fee agreements and invoicing to ensuring client expectations are exceeded. This includes producing high-quality mapping and spatial analysis, conducting fieldwork, site visits, and technical photography to inform your work.
You will be at the forefront of the LVIA process, contributing to the strategic direction of projects within the team. You will stay up to date with industry best practices to ensure our work is innovative and of the highest quality.
You will manage and guide junior team members and sub-consultants to ensure project requirements are delivered successfully.
What we’re looking for in you
- A third-level qualification in Landscape Planning, Landscape Architecture, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of three years of experience conducting Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (or equivalent) in accordance with recognised best practice guidance.
- A comprehensive understanding of the assessment process required in Ireland.
- Excellent presentation, report writing, and communication skills, with a high attention to detail.
- A valid driving license.
Join MKO and be a driving force in building a sustainable future. We offer a unique opportunity to an ambitious person motivated to address some of the defining environmental and societal challenges of our time, from the climate emergency to the housing crisis. If you're ready to make a real impact, we want to hear from you.
Candidates interested in the available position should apply with an up-to-date curriculum vitae and cover letter.
We actively embrace diversity and inclusion as fundamental elements of our workplace culture. We welcome candidates from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, recognising that a diverse team fosters innovation, creativity, and a more dynamic work environment. We promote a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique strengths.
